The mission of KCHAF is: to empower those affected by HIV/AIDS and those at-risk by providing services, support, advocacy and education.
In pursuit of its mission, KCHAF continues the tradition of quality programming through:
- Client Services Child & Family Fund Financial support for expenses unique to children and families.
- Client Advocacy Grants & Loans Financial support for emergencies such as utility shut off, medications, basic telephone and housing assistance.
- Essential Goods Free bags containing essential toiletries, cleaning and household supplies.
- Food Program Groceries are delivered to the households of qualifying clients.
- Pet Support Assistance is available to meet unexpected needs of a companion pet.
- The Ribbon a monthly client newsletter
- Red Ribbon Supper Club A free monthly dinner for people with HIV/AIDS and their families and friends.
- Transportation Assistance Assistance with local transportation or emergency long distance travel.
Education & Outreach
- Advocacy We help organize local community support for issues facing those with HIV.
- AIDS Walk Kitsap A walk event held to raise awareness and funds for our programs.
- Dining Out for Life An event held at area restaurants to raise awareness and funds for our programs.
- HIV Prevention Work with local organizations and agencies in support of HIV prevention.
- Speakers Bureau Consists of people who are HIV positive and willing to share their experiences living with HIV.
- The Q Center A safe and supportive drop-in center for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth ages 14-19.
- World AIDS Day A local observance and candlelight vigil held annually on December 1st.
